Pulau Ubin..

I contradicted myself by putting up a title, but Always expect the unexpected... That's what I learnt from my Pulau Ubin trip last saturday. The simple trekking in Pulau Ubin ended up to be a hectic, dirty, wet and physically + mentally exhausting event.

Arrived with high spirits at Changi Village and met Ruru and Karkar. We misinterpreted YY (the organiser) and therefore was loitering around Changi Village until he and his uni-mates (simply known as YY's gang) finished their meals. Meantime, we got tired of loitering about under the scorning sun and went to the 'new' ferry terminal. Well, it IS new to me, considering the fact that it was almost 7 years since I last visited the terminal/ P.Ubin. Guess what Ruru and I did in the terminal while waiting? We 'drove' our MarioKarts, as usual, leaving Karkar to glaze into the air...

YY's gang finally reached at the terminal around noon and we set off to the hidden gem (I say one, for descriptive purposes), P. Ubin. Upon reaching, we rented bicycles. Didnt expect we will be cycling as I was prepared for some guided trekking tours. Well, doesnt really matter since I consider myself as an amateur cyclist :P We got the bikes at $5 for a whole day :) Cheapppp!!!

Well, the whole cycling tour was not as fun as I anticipated. I imagined cycling with laughters along a hard trail, with breezy winds blowing on your face, surrounded by the greens, where one will occasionally stopover and look at gaze at the beauty of unspoilt nature or take a picture or 2. It was TOTALLY the opposite.

Laughters?: We were tired and sweaty, complaining about the aches and strenuous movements and the especially PAINED ass-cheeks.
BreezyWinds?: Yeah, plus extra SUN and RAIN. We were HOT AND WET. It blardy RAINED AFTER THE SCORCHING SUN!! THUNDERSTORMS loh... toopid weather -.-ll
HardTrails?: Yeah, but they turned muddy after the rain :(
Green?: Too tired to notice the greens...
Occasional stops?: Well, we have a tight schedule to follow.. some die die must go places..

The whole journey took me at least 6 hours. Imagine 6 gruelling hours cycling around the whole island despite have a pain ass since 5 hours ago... 10hours without toilet and 12 without food... I was damn hungry, which was kinda strange provided I dont get hungry easily. Maybe cos of the smell of food along the journey? Well, some strange ppl picnic-ed in middle of nowhere. Have to admit that their curry smells damn shiok though.. Nevertheless, we fulfiled our dreams of cycling in P.Ubin (will we do it again?) and were able to see it at another perspective. It was still fun afterall...
Remembering back when the 7s visited P.Ubin 7 years ago, nothing changed much, but the company was different. We didnt ask the rest, but will that make any differences even if we asked? Things just dont feel the same anymore. 唯一不变的,就是改变 (Changes is the only thing that dont change).

PS: Ruru is so going to kill me when she sees the picture
