Was learning some new vocabularies this morning and came across this word which kinda means stimulating. This brought back some memories when I was still in the Army...
Back in the army, I was an armour engineer. As an armour engineer, it is a requirement to know most drills for demolitions. So I was in this drill which taught us how to create an advancing path when encountering wire obstacles.
In standard battle order (SBO), I ran to the wire obstacle with a Bangalore torpedo (BT: A long cylindrical stick-like demolition which is very powerful) and stuck it in between the wire obstacle, supposing to simulate a 'blow-up' of the wire obstacle.
The sergeants in charge asked me..
"So Donald, What are you doing?"
"I'm stimulating the Bangalore torpedo and......"
They broke into laughters....
"It's SImulating, not STimulating..."
Oops... And yeah... I always thought they are the same... I still get them mixed up even today...
