The MRT door slides open and the crowd at the door made it impossible to squeeze into the train. The center of the cabins were sparse with people but many just refused to move in. As if they would lose some flesh for not being the firsts to get out of the train -.-ll
So I picked up my courage and yelled, "Hi, 门神s (Door God), CAN YOU GUYS FREAKING MOVE IN!!!"
The crowd frantically moved in.
"Cityhall station. Passengers going to ......."
MRT door opens. Passengers 'gushed' out of the train. But there is this someone, who tried to squeeze his way in amongst the gush. Oh my god. Is he scared that the train might go without him? -.-ll
Since I have been labelled 'madman', I sneered at him and said,"Kiasu-sai, the train will wait for you. No rush leh ~!"
Before I finished, he's oredi in btw.
Woo ~ When did Donald become so 'courageous'. Well, the above was just my imaginations at that point of time, or rather it deflects my alter-ego that ONLY stays within me. Maybe one day, I will. Maybe.

Lawl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all lies!!!!!!!!!!!
come come next time we go same MRT make a scene kk...
P.S. its annoying i agree but does not bother me most of the time since i would be asleep anyways
ppl do not want to move into the centre becos when they make space for these ppl they will in turn trap them in the centre of the train.
have u ever tried getting out of a train when u r at the centre of the cabin n the ppl at near the doors are packed up the point where their bums r wiping the window?
in the same way when they cannot get out, they will be cursing the ppl whom they made way for(which is you) in their own blog (like u)
the issue here is not the commuters.
it is easy to be generous when u r rich.
it is easy to be gracious when theres say.. just me n an old lady waiting to board a bus, in that kinda situation i am supremely gracious.
when u r in a fix n u r late, u, donald will be no more ugly than them.
well said, but true grace is shown at all times, what u described would probably fall under "hypocrite courtesy" aka govt propaganda.......kkthxbai courtesy lion!!!
Come to think of it the MRT isn't all that bad because of its ergonomical design....think of buses...those damn peeps cluster all at both doors!!!!! Imagine a double decker with the second deck empty!!!!!!! people unable to board buses because selfish peeps refuse to budge....doesn't not matter when they increase the frequency.....i witnessed 2 buses back to back with the same phenomenon.....
time to time you would think why the fuk these selfish idiots do not wanna move in a little so the bus would fill up faster and move to the destination faster....
There's something fundamentally wrong with the mindset in the society of singapore/asians, not complaining but just stating the obvious fact. Ask Don and Fry how the Aussies queue for 10mins in rush hour to board a bus in an orderly yet efficient manner, mind you in Australia, its more common to pay fares in cash and yes....the driver has a cashier to provide change....think about the amount of time he has to spend for the whole crowd to board.
Btw
"when u r in a fix n u r late, u, donald will be no more ugly than them."
HA...i do not know who you are but clearly you do not know our protagonist here....he's the living "buddha"......more or less...no chance (0.000000001514% actually) in catching him being ugly in this millennia.
"in the same way when they cannot get out, they will be cursing the ppl "
Yup that sounds like FRY-kun!!!!
me...i guess i'll sideswipe my way through
Im agreeing mostly with what lord de grace said.....his description is pretty text book...
you study psychology or something?
Alas the problem with singapore, and most countries with large human populations vs land mass ratios...is that everyone becomes self centered....and hence if you give way to someone or go out of your way to be "courteous" not only will you not be thanked, you will only get taken advantage of....
In the dog eat dog world...you have to kill to survive....
That is why...Nice guys like donald...will always be taken advantage of....
"Im agreeing mostly with what lord de grace said.....his description is pretty text book..."
HA.....just take the MRT more often and you see it everyday what....why need textbook.....or psychology lessons?
It took me quite a long while to think of a reply to all the comments. Beside, my busy schedule has refrained me from blogging from work:P
Anyway, to LordDeGrace, I do agree that people who shifted in and make way for others to get in will be trapped in the center of the train. I myself, do grumps when I have to squeeze my way through just to get out from train (which I seldom have to since my station is after TanjongPagar/ Cityhall). But when I realised that I do complain more when I couldn't get into train as selfish people crowd at doors, I seriously would rather be the one grumbling INSIDE the train. Seriously, would you rather squeeze out of train or miss the train?
Selfish people should think for others. This is a gracious society, but not a perfect world. There will always be people who refuse to change but I will just do my part, even if I get taken advantage of. Muhahaha...
By the way, the bus's issue is much much worse. There can be empty seats, but yet, no one else can squeeze into the bus.
In a sidenote, thanks for visiting my blog, even though that might be the first and the last time.
Cheers
Donald
PS: Pardon me for the messy reply
Well, for this problem there are commuter-end issues and there are provider-end issues.
i have seen back to back full load busses which are unboardable for more than 2 ocassions in one month n i am not even someone who take busses on a daily basis, if i am so lucky to catch these "exceptions" at my rate of commuting i reckon i must be a mightly lucky person.
i cant help but lament the kind of annoying daily grind day to day commuters have to go through.
apparently when some bureaucrat jumps out and dish out the textbook answer that the max load of busses do not exceed 95% during peak hours, something is fundamentally wrong on the provider-end.
i have witness both senarios,
1)selfish ppl and the train/bus is not full.
2)the bus/trains r really jam pack to the doors.
i am not saying that the world is devoid of selfish ppl, but since both senarios happen, lets not put all the blame on the commuters.
u cannot solve (1) in a short period of time, even with the appropriate 'push factors' a gracious society takes year n years to form.
i don't think u can expect to change masses of ppl by simply scolding them.
but u can solve (2) at a finite financial cost.
can u tell me which is easier to solve?
to kelvin, your idea of true grace is a admirable ideal, but it does not exist across the board in our society, if we rely on it to solve this problem, we will be disappointed.
to sotongball, i think u have shown good analytical insight into the nature of the problem,
i think an increasing population to land ratio will cause a proportionate increase in the tension levels within it's inhabitants.
for issues pertaining to transportation, i believe the government should proactively act to solve this problem instead of asserting that the transport companies had been privatized and the competition + market forces will regulate itself.
we all know that the bus n mrt companies compete very hard with each other, so do the telco companies.
